Decided to do some board testing in Jbay the past week. Here’s some feedback:

Surfed the 5’8” fish on about 3ft point, board works well although can turn better in future versions. Paddled over to tubes as it got a bit busy. Waves were a bit faster and hollower, board handled well in the steeper waves, was a bit fast, struggled to stall in the pocket to get some cover up. My mate Jak was on the other 5’8” fish. This board has rounder rails and is a lot thicker with some more kick in the tail. Board was a bit fast for the wave as well. The tail kick seemed to help him get some good spray off the back, and tighter turning in the pocket.

Had some lunch, then headed back out, this time trying the thruster. Board has really good speed through turns and has lots of drive. Gave it to my mate Lyell to get feedback, he seemed to be flying across point on the board. I was a bit hesitant on the way the rails would work for his weight at first. Really happy with the way the board goes rail to rail with that design. The board will work better for a heavier person and some large fins as there’s a lot of volume.

Very stoked with the overall performance of both boards. Definitely needs some updates, in future versions to make it fast and loose. Always space to innovate.

Keen to get building again, got a new single fin and fish design in the works...
